The Lady Braves look to build momentum heading into the final month of regular season play.
With a win Wednesday at York College, the Ottawa University women’s basketball team snapped a four-game skid, and will now host Bethany College 3 p.m. today at OU’s Wilson Field House. The Swedes beat Ottawa Dec. 2 60-58 in overtime in Lindsborg during the first meeting between the two squads this season.
While Bethany (13-9, 9-6 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) has been on a hot streak of recent, the team is coming off a 76-67 loss at No. 22 Friends University Wednesday.

YORK, Nebraska — Ottawa led by as many as 31 in its 81-67 blowout of last-place York Wednesday.
Up 15-14 early in the second quarter, OU went on a 25-13 run to close out the half. The Lady Braves then outscored York 26-13 in the third quarter, hitting 9-16 shots and forcing five turnovers.
The Lady Panthers did end the game on a 25-8 run, but Ottawa’s lead stood, giving the team its second January win.
Jenna Kramer, sophomore guard, hit 11-12 free throws en route to a 21-point performance. Jessica King, senior forward, had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Leslie Speer, senior forward, and Madi McAvoy, freshman guard, each had 10 points apiece.
