WELLSVILLE — In a high-scoring affair, the Wellsville High School boys basketball team avenged an earlier defeat to Anderson County Friday night in Kermit Deterding Gym in Wellsville.

The Eagles won 91-82 over the Bulldogs. Wellsville hit 10 treys in the game and was 19 of 25 from the free-throw-line.

Wellsville used a big second quarter to open a double-digit lead on the Bulldogs. The Eagles scored 26 points in the quarter to gain a 47-35 halftime lead.

Anderson County got untracked in the third quarter and netted 23 points to pull within 65-58. Wellsville’s explosive offense kept Anderson County at arm’s length.

Dawson Donovan paced the Eagles with 26 points. Zach Vance and Jackson Dwyer fired in 18 points each. Elijah Kearney finished with 13 points.
