PARKVILLE, Missouri — The Braves won their fourth straight match over a ranked opponent Tuesday.

The Ottawa University men’s volleyball team topped No. 5 Park University in Parkville, Missouri, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19. The No. 7-ranked Braves are now 6-4 on the year against ranked teams, and 13-5 overall.

OU lost the opening set after falling behind 19-10. After that, Ottawa was the one taking leads and running with them.

The Braves had a 20-14 lead in the second set after scoring five straight points, a 20-17 lead in the third set and an 18-13 lead in the fourth set, all of which they won.

Ottawa finished with a .282 attacking percentage and four service aces.

Daniel Jacobs, senior outside hitter, was named the NAIA (National Association of Intercollgiate Athletics) Attacker of the Week, and kept momentum going against Park. He finished with 21 kills in 45 attacks with just six errors. Luke Pope, senior setter, had 36 assists and nine digs, while Errol Basconcillo, senior libero, finished with 17 digs.

Ottawa plays 7 p.m. Tuesday at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. The Braves are 2-0 this season against Graceland, both wins coming by 3-0 sweeps.
