Tuesday marked a first for Ottawa University athletics.
The OU men’s powerlifting program announced the signing of Patrick Moss for the 2018-19 season, marking the first powerlifting signing in school history.
Moss is from Topeka and attends Topeka High School. He lettered in football and bowling at THS, and helped lead his team to two Kansas 6A State Weightlifting Championships. Moss placed fourth at the state weightlifting meet in 2017. He was the 2017 Topeka High Football Manager of the Year and was part of three Centennial League Championships.
Moss is the son of John and Michele Moss, and plans to major in communications.
Ottawa also added an accomplished soccer player to its women’s program. OU announced Tuesday the signing of Mia Miller for the 2018 season.
Miller is from Wichita, Kansas and attends Goddard High School. Miller played one year on the Kansas ODP team and the Butler College Showcase Game in 2016. She earned four letters in soccer and three in powerlifting at Goddard High School. Miller earned All-Conference second team honors while on the Goddard High School soccer team.
Miller is the daughter of Brenna and Joe Miller, and plans to major in psychology.
