OLATHE — The Ottawa High School boys golf team placed 12th out of 18 teams Wednesday at the Mill Valley Invitational at Prairie Highlands Golf Course in Olathe.

The Cyclones shot a team score of 358, 35 strokes behind first-place Olathe East (323). The top two OHS finishers were Cade Gollier, sophomore, who finished 24th out of 88 competitors with an 85. Isaac Bones, junior, finished one stroke behind with an 86 to place 35th.

“This was a good test for your young team,” Mark Eggold, OHS head golf coach, said. “They competed against a lot of 5A and 6A schools on a very challenging course. Our upperclassmen were a little disappointed with their performance, but I was pleased with our top finishers.”

Ottawa plays Monday at the Hayden Invitational at the Shawnee Country Club, 6404 Hedge Lane Terrace, Shawnee.
