Ottawa University football’s James Reeder has been named to the 2018 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Team. The KCAC office announced the top preseason players for the upcoming season Thursday, according to a KCAC news release.

Reeder is a sophomore running back from Lawrence. He emerged as a freshman force in the Braves backfield last season, finishing just shy of 1,000 yards. He compiled 976 rushing yards on 188 carries for an average of 5.2 yards per rush and two touchdowns, good enough to earn first team all-conference honors. He added 20 receptions for 115 yards, an average of 5.8 yards per reception.

Reeder and the Braves open their season 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at Bethel College in North Newton.
