Cyclone soccer fell back below .500 with a loss Tuesday. Baldwin topped Ottawa High School boys soccer 2-0 at OHS, 1120 S. Ash St., Ottawa.

Baldwin scored both of its goals in the first half.

The loss broke a two-match win streak for the Cyclones (2-3), after the team beat Paola and Bonner Springs last week.

Despite the stumble, Roland Jaworksi, OHS head boys soccer coach, said his team is playing more competitively.

“After the first couple of games of the season, we changed up our formation and personnel on the field,” Jaworski said. “It really clicked last week, especially the formation. We controlled the ball and passed it really well. That makes for a good-looking game and a fun evening of soccer. We didn’t do that as much [against Baldwin].”

Ottawa will look to get a win back 6 p.m. today at Louisburg.
