EMPORIA — The Central Heights boys basketball team hit 7-10 free throws in the fourth quarter to edge Mission Valley 51-48 Saturday. The win gave the Vikings third place in the Flint Hills Shootout tournament hosted at Emporia’s White Auditorium.

Caleb Meyer led Central Heights with 11 points and Matt Cubit added 10. Eight of Cubit’s 10 points came in the first half. Mission Valley was led by P.J. Meyers who scored 12 points, all in the first half.

Central Heights (9-4) has now won six of its last seven games. The team hosts Osawatomie (7-5) tomorrow at Central Heights High School, 3521 Ellis Road, Richmond.
