The Central Heights boys took a thrilling 42-41 victory Friday over Jayhawk-Linn on the road.

The two teams combined to miss free throws in the final four seconds as the Vikings escaped with the victory.


The Wellsville Eagles needed extra time to nip Anderson County in Garnett, The Eagles squeaked out a 70-69 victory in overtime.


The Wellsville girls will play for third-place 3:15 p.m. today in the Top Gun Tournament. The Eagles fell 71-51 to Baldwin Friday night in the semifinals.

The Eagles topped Louisburg, 60-28, in Thursday’s opening round. The first round games were delayed two days because of a winter storm.

The Eagles were paced by three players in double figures in the loss to Baldwin. Demi Aamold led Wellsville with 16 points. Madi McCoy tossed in 15 and Grace Showalter netted 12.
