LA CYGNE — Jackson Dwyer accounted for half Wellsville’s points in Tuesday’s win at Prairie View. The senior hit nine field goals and put up 33 points to lift the Eagle boys basketball team to a 66-61 road win — their fourth straight.

Dwyer scored 14 points in a fourth quarter that saw 47 total points scored between both teams. Prairie View outscored WHS 25-22 in the final eight minutes, but it wasn’t enough to rally past a lead that Wellsville kept the whole game.

Blake Boedecker (21) and Justin Scott (20) combined for 41 of Prairie View’s 61 points. Boedecker hit nine field goals in the contest.

Wellsville (7-6) hosts Osawatomie (8-5) Friday.

WAVERLY — The Falcons had their lowest point total of the season in Tuesday’s 49-24 loss at Waverly.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first quarter and the West Franklin High School boys basketball team (3-11) never recovered.

Clayton Noyons led West Franklin with eight points.

West Franklin plays Thursday at Mission Valley (10-3) in Eskridge, followed by a home contest Friday against Lebo (11-3) in Pomona.
