WELLSVILLE — One of the top 4A teams in the state got the better of Wellsville for the second time this season. Baldwin kept the Lady Eagles basketball team to 15 points in the second half for its ninth-straigth win, 59-37, Tuesday in Wellsville. The loss snapped a four-game WHS win streak.

The Lady Eagles outscored Baldwin 14-9 in the second quarter to cut the lead at halftime to 29-22. From there, it was all Bulldogs.

“We had a tough night offensively,” Brock Campbell, WHS head girls basketball coach, said. “Defensively we looked good and times, but their 13-0 run to start the third quarter really hurt us.”

Demi Aamold led Wellsville with 15 points. Baldwin’s Macey Frost hit four three-pointers to lead Baldwin with 13 points.

Wellsville (13-3) plays today at West Franklin (4-13) in Pomona.

POMONA — The Lady Falcons basketball team snapped a three-game skid with their home win Tuesday against Marais des Cygnes Valley.

West Franklin (4-13) is set to host Wellsville (13-3) today in a make-up game.


The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Anderson County routed the Central Heights girls basketball team 55-25 Tuesday at CHHS.

The Lady Vikings look to get back on track in their tentatively scheduled Friday contest at Marais des Cygnes Valley (1-18) in Melvern.
