Cyclone baseball will travel to Fort Scott for their regional showdown. Ottawa High School (9-8) plays Paola (9-8) 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at LaRoche Complex.

The 18-team field of the 4A East Regional is broken into four tournaments with the top four seeds hosting. Ottawa is the No. 7 seed playing No. 10-seeded Paola, and the winner will advance to the regional title game set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fort Scott (18-1) is the No. 2 overall seed and will play the winner of Monday’s play-in game between Louisburg (3-14) and Parsons (3-10).

Ottawa and Paola met Monday in what proved to be the season finale for the Cyclones. The league rivalry ended with an 11-1 OHS route in six innings.

Ottawa’s Jackson Murphy pitched the full game, allowing one run on five hits, striking out four and walking two. The Cyclone offense got a lift from Cameron Reynolds, who drove in three on three hits and scored a run. Austin Nitcher also had a three-hit game, tallying two RBIs and a run scored. Chad Bones had four hits including a double, scored twice and drove in one. Brady Beets added two hits and two runs scored. All together, the Cyclones had 19 hits.
