The Ottawa University athletic teams announced recently additions to the roster for the upcoming seasons.
The OU men’s volleyball program signed Jherard Morris-Sealy from St. James, Barbados, and attended The Alexandra School.
Morris-Sealy plans to major in communications.
The Braves men’s soccer team signed Joseph Onassa, Olathe. He attended Olathe West High School.
Onassa lettered in soccer at Olathe West High School. He was named Most Inspirational Player and earned Third Team All-Sunflower League honors. Onassa helped lead OWHS to the Fatcat Tournament Championship and to a regional appearance.
The men’s basketball program signed Ryan Torrey, St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Soldan High School.
Torrey lettered in basketball at Soldan High School.
“We are excited about Ryan deciding to come to be a part of the Ottawa University men’s basketball family,” OU men’s basketball coach Aaron Siebenthall. “Soldan is a great program in St. Louis which will help make Ryan’s transition from high school to college easier. He is a point guard who can create for others and score in a number of ways. We can’t wait to get Ryan on campus in the fall.”
Torrey plans to major in sports studies.
The Ottawa women’s tennis program signed Julia Perez Wienese, Vinaros, Spain. She is a transfer from William Woods University. Perez Wienese went to high school at IES Jose Vilaplana.
In her freshman season at William Woods University, Perez Wienese compiled a singles record of 5-9 and a doubles mark of 12-5. At IES Jose Vilaplana, she earned first team all-conference in singles and doubles.
She plans to major in business administration.
