The Wellsville High School boys basketball team’s task is to beat a team for the third time this season.


The Eagles earned another date with Osawatomie in Thursday’s sub-state semifinal in Burlington. Wellsville (14-7) bounced Prairie View, 61-30, Monday in the first round in Wellsville.


Wellsville owns 57-45 and 61-43 wins over Osawatomie (14-7) this season. The game will be at 6 p.m. with the other semifinal of Burlington and Osage City to follow. The winners meet 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the championship game.


Wellsville took control of the Buffalos early, taking 23-10 lead into the second quarter. Jackson Showalter paced Wellsville with 21 points. Jim Dorsey tossed in 12.
