BROOKINGS, S.D. — Ottawa University sprinters Adia Vaughn and Jaylan Washington earned NAIA All-American honors Saturday for the indoor track and field teams.
Both placed in the top eight in the NAIA finals of the 60-meter race.
Vaughn placed eighth in the women’s race with a time of 7.70. This is her first indoor track and field All-American honor. Vaughn placed ninth last year in the 60.
Washington took fifth in the men’s race at 6.83, which tied his school record mark in the event.
The indoor season was one for the record books for both athletes. Vaughn set a new KCAC meet record in the 60 and was crowned the KCAC Champion. Washington also set a new KCAC meet record and was conference champion in the event and setting a new school record.
