GARNETT — The Ottawa Arrows are in a scoring drought.
Ottawa stranded 18 runners in two losses Thursday in Garnett against the Muddogs.
Ottawa fell 7-1 and 8-1 to fall to 6-11. The Arrows head into the holiday weekend on a four-game skid. Ottawa was swept by Newton on Wednesday.
Ottawa had seven hits in the opener and stranded seven runners.
Garnett came out smoking, scoring seven runs on eight hits in the first inning. Ottawa starter Lane Altic settled down and surrendered just three hits in the next five innings.
Ottawa scored its lone run in the opener during the third inning. Cole Swanson drove home the run with a single.
The nightcap was more the same. Garnett led 5-0 after two frames. The Muddogs added two in the fourth for a 7-0 cushion.
Ottawa plated a run in the sixth inning on Ryan Laurie’s RBI single.
The Arrows stranded 11 runners on base.
Ottawa plays at home 6 p.m. Tuesday against Topeka.
