Coshocton woman dies in Sunday morning crash in Coshocton County
COSHOCTON A 59-year-old Coshocton woman died early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on state Route 16 near the Coshocton County and Muskingum County line.
According to Coshocton County Sheriff Tim Rogers, the woman was traveling westbound in a 2009 Kia Sorento on Route 16 when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and the driver over-corrected.
The vehicle then went off the right side of the road again and up an embankment before overturning on the driver’s side. The vehicle continued moving and overturned again, coming to rest back onto the wheels.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed is considered to be a factor of the crash, Rogers said. The accident remains under investigation. The name of the victim is being withheld until family notifications are made.
Assisting the sheriff's office on the scene were the Coshocton County EMS, Conesville Fire Department, Coshocton County Coroner’s Office, REACT and Prince's Wrecker Service.
