Arrests

• 10:58 a.m. Friday, 3400 block Interstate 35, Ottawa, Amanda Morin, 32, Newton, was arrested and released on a notice to appear for driving while suspended after being involved in a minor, single-vehicle accident.

• 2:20 a.m. Saturday, 2300 US-59 highway, Ottawa, Amber Butler, 38, Lawrence, was arrested in connection with driving while revoked and no proof of insurance. Amber was released on a notice to appear.

• 9 p.m. Saturday, 4500 block of New US-59 Highway, Anthony Catanzaro, 19, Ottawa, was arrested and released on a notice to appear for driving while suspended.

• 9 p.m. Saturday, 4500 block of New US-59 Highway, a 17-year-old Franklin County girl was arrested and released on a notice to appear for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• 7:21 p.m. Saturday, 900 block of N. Oak Street, Ottawa, Adam Heenan, 40, Ottawa, was arrested on a Franklin County failure to appear warrant.

• 5:45 p.m. Sunday, 305 S. Main St., Ottawa, Lindsey Likes, 36, Melvern, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for probation violation.

• 9 a.m. Sunday, 301 S. Main St., Ottawa, Douglas Sommer, 54, Centropolis, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for failure to appear.

Accidents

• 11:26 a.m. Friday, Interstate 35 and K-68 highway, two-vehicle injury crash. Miriam Lemp of Ottawa was turning left from the I-35 interchange going west on K-68 highway. She was struck by Tyler Stevenson, Rantoul, who was going east on K-68 highway. Both subjects were transported to Advent Health. Both vehicles were towed from this location.

• Unspecified time Friday, Mark Siwikski, 72, Parma Heights, Ohio, was traveling north on Interstate 35 in his 2018 Ford Transit Van when he fell asleep. Siwikski collided with the guardrail, causing his airbags to deploy. The vehicle sustained extensive damage, greater than $1,000.

• 9:42 a.m. Sunday, 2500 block of I-35, Lindsey Cardin, 55, Waverly, was traveling northbound in a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer when he struck a deer that entered the roadway. Damage estimated over $1,000.

Incidents

• 1 p.m. Sunday, 2200 block of Old US-50 Highway, a toolbox and tools had fallen off a vehicle and were found by a passerby. The items were collected for safekeeping. Informational report taken.

Arrests

• 8:45 a.m. Friday, 305 S. Main Street (FRCO Jail), Courtney Fisher, 39, Raytown, Mo., was arrested on an active city of Ottawa warrant.

• 11:32 p.m. Saturday, 800 N. Main Street, Jordan Tice, 31, Lawrence, was arrested in connection with DUI after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

• No time, 400 N. Locust Street, Justin Putney 31, Lawrence, was arrested in connection with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia after being contacted by officers.

• 2:26 a.m. Saturday, 400 E. Logan Street, Steven Savage, 37, Overland Park, was arrested in connection with driving under the influence offense after being stopped for a traffic infraction.

Accidents

• 6:28 p.m. Sunday, K-68 highway and Main Street, a 2007 Ford driven by a 15-year-old Ottawa boy was struck by a 2017 Ford pulling a boat and trailer driven by Joseph Valenzuela, a 36-year-old Olathe man. Valenzuela and a 7-year-old passenger of the 2017 Ford were transported to Advent Health for possible injury. The 15-year-old was cited for disobeying a traffic signal.

• 9:28 a.m. Friday, 1600 S. Main Street, Brian Latessa, 39, Wickliffe, reported an unknown person damaged his vehicle. Case is under investigation.

• 7:19 p.m. Saturday, 500 South Cherry Street, a 34-year-old Ottawa woman reported a past crime involving a juvenile. Case under investigation.

• 9:16 a.m. Saturday, 800 N. Poplar Street, Heather Wilson, 26, Ottawa, was cited for keeping vicious animals, possessing a pit bull, no proof of vaccination, no city registration after her dogs bit a 45-year-old Ottawa woman.

• 3:17 p.m. Sunday, 1200 S. Main Street, a 28-year-old Ottawa woman reported she was battered by a known 26-year-old man. Case is under investigation.

• 3:39 p.m. Sunday, 300 E. 4th Street, a 41-year-old Ottawa man reported a sex offense. Case is under investigation.

Thefts

• 10:51 a.m. Saturday, 715 W. 2nd Street, a 29-year-old Ottawa woman reported a past theft.

• 12:04 p.m. Saturday, 1700 S. Elm Street, a 37-year-old Ottawa woman reported burglary, theft, criminal damage to property. Case under investigation.

• 8:32 p.m. Sunday, 600 S. Burroughs Street, a 25-year-old Ottawa woman reported theft of items by known suspects. Case is under investigation.
