I-35 lane closures to last until spring

The Herald Staff

Drivers using Interstate 35 in Franklin County will be met by lane closures and work zones for the next few months.

KDOT has started a resurfacing project between mile markers 177 and 192 in Franklin County. Activities include pavement crack filling, concrete patching, a 1-inch reflective crack interlayer and a 3-inch overlay treatment. I-35 traffic will be reduced to one lane in the project area.

KDOT awarded the $12.4 million construction contract to Bettis Asphalt & Construction Inc. of Topeka. Work on the project will be suspended during the winter months and resume in the spring of 2021.
