OU wrestlers snare All-American honors

Ottawa University had two student-athletes named to the 2020 NAIA Women's All-American Teams.

Lyric Gonsalves (143 pounds) and Randi Scoon (155) were named to the honorable mention team.

Each year, the NWCA recognizes the work of the student-athletes by naming All-Americans based on their achievements in the national championships. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s championships were canceled.

Gonsalves finished the season with a record of 22-8. She won the KCAC championship in the 143-pound weight class. Gonsalves finished the season with nine technical falls and 10 falls. She had a 4-1 duals record, competing in both the 143-pound weight class and the 155-pound weight class.

Scoon led the team in overall victories with 25, finishing with a record of 25-8. She was the KCAC champion in the 155 class. Scoon went 6-0 in duals and finished with 12 technical falls and eight falls.
