Arrows fall into loser’s bracket of tourney

BUHLER — The Ottawa Arrows’ road to a tournament championship will be a bit bumpy.

The Arrows fell to McPherson, 8-0, Friday afternoon, in the first game of the Wheatland World Series in Buhler.

Ottawa (10-21) fell into the loser’s bracket and plays 9 a.m. Saturday against either Newton, Salina or Great Bend. The tournament has a double-elimination format.

Ottawa finished with five hits and left seven runners on base. McPherson scored one in the second inning, five in the third and ended the game with two in the fifth.

Jose Richards had two hits for Ottawa.

Ayden Alterman tossed four innings. He gave up five hits and walked four in the loss.
