OU flag football signs high school teammates
The Ottawa University women’s flag football team’s initial roster is starting to take shape with the signing of Las Vegas high school teammates, Sidney Rood, Jazlyn Camacho and Hailee McKay.
Rood lettered in flag football, softball and golf at Green Valley High School. She helped GVHS to two Nevada Flag Football State Championships. As a senior, Rood threw 60 touchdown passes. She was named to the 2017 all-state academic team and earned all-state honors and was named all-Region 4A Desert Quarterback in 2020.
Rood has an identical twin sister. She plans to major in management of information systems.
Camacho lettered in flag football, soccer and track at Green Valley. The receiver and linebacker was a two-time player of the year, helped lead GVHS to two state championships and played in two all-star games.
Camacho plans to concentrate on general studies before deciding on a major.
McKay lettered in football, soccer and cross country at Green Valley High School. The receiver/corner helped the Gators to a 2018-19 and 2019-20 state championships. McKay played in two all-star games and was an 2019-2020 4A Desert All-Region selection. She was on the first Battle 7v7 Team, winning the first female 7v7 tournament.
McKay plans to major in pre-med and psychology.
