OU women’s soccer roster grows
The Ottawa University women’s soccer team is gearing up for the 2020 season.
The Lady Braves recently added to its roster with the signing of Ciara Joyce, County Mayo, Ireland. She is a transfer from Iowa Lakes Community College.
At Iowa Lakes Community College, Joyce was named to the 2019 All-Region team, earned All-Academic honors and was the top goal scorer at Iowa Lakes.
Joyce plans to concentrate on general studies before deciding on a major.
Ottawa coach Ben Boehner begins his second season in 2020. He was named director of soccer earlier this month. Boehner will manage the administrative operations for both the men's and women's programs, including staff mentoring and development, recruiting strategies and budget management and oversight.
In Boehner's first season, Ottawa finished with an overall record of 5-14 and a KCAC record of 5-8-0. After a slow start, Ottawa finished the season strong and qualified for the KCAC Tournament with seventh-place finish.
Ottawa opens the season Sept. 9 at home against Stephens College.
