Creach, Weidl ranked No. 1 in KWCA poll

The Ottawa and Wellsville prep wrestlers were ranked among the start’s best in the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association preseason poll.

The Cyclones were No. 7 in the 4A team rankings.

Ottawa junior Colin Creach, a two-time state placer, was top-ranked in the 138-pound division. Robert Crooks, 132, and Jared Ferguson, 195, were ranked sixth.

In the girls division, senior Darby Weidl, state runner-up last season, was ranked No. 1 at 155.

Wellsville senior Colby Stephens, 285, was ranked third in 3-2-1A. Junior Ethan Elliott, 126, is ranked fifth.
