These are the gold medal performances of the week (Sept. 13-16).


Bethany Pearson, Wellsville volleyball

Pearson quarterbacked the offense. In two matches, she finished with 26 assists.

Mazzi Przybylo, Wellsville volleyball

Przybylo was all over the court getting her hands on balls. She had 30 digs in the two matches.

Emery Keebaugh, OHS volleyball

Keebaugh was a busy hitter in Ottawa’s five-set loss to Bonner Springs. The sophomore had a career-high 42 kills in the match.

Kirsten Evans, OHS volleyball

Evans had the offense humming against Bonner Springs as she moved the ball around. She finished with 101 assists for the match. She has more than 2,500 set assists for her career.

Aubrey Vasquez, OHS golf

Vasquez paced the Ottawa High School girls golf team to a third-place finish at the Santa Fe Trail tournament. She finished second with a nine-hole score of 46.

Erin Smith, OHS golf

Smith keeps playing solid golf with a top-5 finish at the SFT tourney. She took third with a 49.


Kole Spigle, OHS soccer

Spigle scored a goal to help Ottawa defeat Fort Scott, 2-1, and remain undefeated this season.

Josue Navarro, OHS soccer

Navarro also scored a goal as the Cyclones picked up a road victory.
