Friends of the COF holds first annual cornhole tournament

The Ottawa Herald The Friends of the COF held its first annual cornhole tournament on February 6 at the Bottle House in Ottawa. All proceeds from the event go to COF Training Services, a not-for-profit organization that provides day programs and residential services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Coffey, Osage and Franklin Counties.

Assisted living facility residents in Kansas lack right to appeal involuntary discharge

TOPEKA — Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease led to rancher Charles Imthurn’s placement in a Kansas assisted living facility and it was dementia that prompted his involuntary discharge. Imthurn’s wife, Rachel, said the facility providing care for her husband and five other Alzheimer’s patients with issues related to memory, thinking and behavior decided without warning to get out of that line of business.
