The Ottawa University softball team added two prep signees to the 2022-23 roster. Reagan Hammons,Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and attends Keys High School, and Cesara Roque, Pasadena, Texas and attends Sam Rayburn High School, will compete for playing time.

The Ottawa Library is marking a century-and-a-half of service to the community with an all-year celebration that kicked off last month. A 26-year-old man was killed when a hay trailer hit his motorcycle Monday afternoon. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Edward Gulley of Osawatomie was heading south on Vermont Road in Rantoul when he was struck by the trailer, which was being towed into a field.
Wreaths Across Franklin County needs to purchase more wreaths and materials for upkeep on the wreaths being used to don on veterans graves during the Christmas holiday. The organization will have a fundraiser 4-7 p.m.
