One year ago, Betty Birzer of ReeceNichols decided to bring a box of donuts to the cooks at PrimeTime Grille as a way of thanking them for the hard work they put in throughout the pandemic. She was surprised by how excited everyone was by the gift, but then she came to a realization: while everyone was busy thanking healthcare workers and teachers (who deserved all of the praise and then some, to be sure), nobody had thought to reach out to those working behind the scenes to thank them for the countless hours they’d put in to bring people food, groceries, and other necessities, all while potentially risking their lives. That’s when she got an idea, but she’d need some help.
After over 40 years serving the Ottawa community, first at People’s Bank and then at Kansas State Bank, Wayne Duderstadt will be retiring – at least partially – at the end of April. A native of Shawnee Mission, Duderstadt first came to Ottawa to study at Ottawa University.
