Kalmar Global has announced plans to expand its Ottawa manufacturing plant to accommodate a growing demand for its electrically powered terminal tractors. According to Kalmar, the expansion will cost over $20 million and is expected to be completed in 2023.
The City of Ottawa’s Multi-Media specialist, Mat Simonson, was recognized at the Best of the Mid-west Media Fest Banquet held in Madison, Wisconsin. The Ottawa High School softball team’s players are receiving individual awards after the team’s best finish since 2009. The Cyclones, who qualified for the state tournament for the first time in 13 seasons, had six players receive all-league honors.

The Ottawa American Legion baseball teams had a rough start to their seasons as both weekend tournaments were washed out. The Arrows played two games on Friday, winning both games, before Saturday’s rain cancelled the rest of the Kansas Senators Tournament in Topeka.
