The Kansas City Royals are looking toward the future as they traded an All-Star for pitching prospects as the trade deadline approaches. The Royals traded outfielder Andrew Benintendi to the New York Yankees for for right-handed pitchers Chandler Champlain and Beck Way and left-handed pitcher T.J.
The Ottawa Arrows season came to an end Thursday in an unusual way. Prior to Ottawa’s second pool game against the Kansas Senators, Leavenworth, who fell to 0-2 after a loss to Pittsburg, pulled out of the Kansas American Legion State Tournament.
The two-time defending KCAC champion Ottawa University softball team keeps adding pieces for the 2023 season. The Lady Braves signed pitcher Ashlynn Mercer, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
Ottawa University running back Derek Curtis is one of three returning backs for the Braves. In the fall of 2020, Curtis was among the NAIA leaders in rushing and touchdowns.
Nick Bolton knows he will be looked at as more of a leader for the Kansas City Chiefs defense this season. And a big reason that a linebacker just starting his second NFL season will be thrust in that role is attrition.
