Franklin Co. Development Council launches online tool for local businesses
The Franklin County Development Council (FCDC) has launched a new section on its website that will allow local small businesses to conduct market research. The tool, called SizeUp Franklin County, will also be available on the websites of the City of Ottawa, Franklin County, Wellsville Chamber of Commerce, and Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.
Arrows head into Zone with winning mindset
The mission is simple for the Ottawa Arrows in the Zone Tournament — win two games before losing two games. The American Legion AAA Zone Tournament in Atchson starts Monday and runs through Thursday (if necessary game).
Local financial advisor receives national award from Edward Jones
Angela VanDeBerghe, a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Ottawa, received the Ted Jones Entrepreneurial Award for her work building relationships with clients. The Ted Jones Award is named for founder Edward Jones’ son and was given to 1,572 financial advisors firmwide in 2022 for their dedication to serving their clients.

The Ottawa University men’s tennis team added a collegiate veteran for the 2022-23 season. Julian Felipe Toloza Lopez,Bogota, Columbia, is a transfer from Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

The nonprofit weight loss group Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, or TOPS, has crowned Steve Miner of Ottawa Kansas King after he lost more weight through the program than any other male participant in the state.
