County may submit grants for bridges

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners met for their regular meeting at the Franklin County Annex on August 10. Here are some of the items discussed during that time: • Commissioners approved rezoning applications for multiple properties, including a 69-acre plot outside Williamsburg that is to be divided into four tracts.

Autopsy scammer to pay fine

Tim Carpenter and Sherman Smith, Kansas Reflector A Kansan without medical credentials who performed illegal autopsies was ordered by a judge to pay $510,000 in penalties and fees as well as $254,000 in restitution for violating consumer protection laws and other state statutes, the attorney general said Wednesday. Attorney General Derek Schmidt initiated civil action against Shawn Parcells, 42, and three businesses operated by Parcells based on allegations he performed illegal autopsies.
