Scheckel earns degrees from Baylor

Sydney Kay Scheckel, Richmond was one of more than 730 Baylor University graduates who received their degrees during summer commencement ceremonies Aug. 13 in the Ferrell Center. President Linda A. Livingstone,Ph.D.,presided over the ceremonies with Provost Nancy Brickhouse, Ph.D., and the deans of Baylor’s 12 colleges and schools presenting the candidates for graduation. Nearly 50 faculty members served as marshals and ushers during commencement.

Miller named to NextGen Under-30 List

The Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce’s Community Liaison, Ryland Miller, was named earlier this month to the Kansas Department of Commerce’s inaugural NextGen Under-30 Kansas list. The Under-30 Kansas program recognizes outstanding professionals age 30 and under from across the state in a variety of fields from education to the arts to finance.

Building Bridges

Jaimie Swindler is building bridges. As a special-education teacher for adults ages 18-21, Swindler provides transition services for her students, helping them bridge the gap between high school and living in the real world.
