Deputies searching for wanted man

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a 40-yearold Quenemo man who is wanted on two felony warrants. As of early Friday afternoon, sheriff ’s officials announced on their Facebook page that Marvin Joe McWhorter III was wanted on an active probation violation arrest warrant, stemming from a previous case involving felony theft, fleeing and eluding and the theft of motor fuel.

Kansas Republican candidates say they will accept election results — with caveats

TOPEKA — Kansas Republican candidates on the November ballot say they will accept the results of the election whether they win or lose, though some have added caveats to this acceptance. In Kansas, several lawmakers have called into question voter integrity, and election deniers forced a recount of votes in the August primary over the rejection of an abortion amendment to the Kansas Constitution.

Advent Health, local doctors at odds over hospitalist contract

Problems stemming from a contract between AdventHealth Ottawa and local physicians came to a head Thursday afternoon during the AdventHealth Ottawa Board of Trustees meeting. The meeting, which became heated at times, gave Franklin County residents an opportunity to ask questions of the board to learn more about the fallout between the hospital and Ottawa Family Physicians, who previously operated the medical facility’s hospitalist program.
