A downtown Ottawa business is closing its doors at the end of the year. On Thursday, Mary Raley, who owns Maggie’s Popcorn and Nuts with her husband, Kyle, posted on the business’ Facebook page that the brick-and-mortar location would be closing for good after six years at 230 S.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a 40-yearold Quenemo man who is wanted on two felony warrants. As of early Friday afternoon, sheriff ’s officials announced on their Facebook page that Marvin Joe McWhorter III was wanted on an active probation violation arrest warrant, stemming from a previous case involving felony theft, fleeing and eluding and the theft of motor fuel.

Problems stemming from a contract between AdventHealth Ottawa and local physicians came to a head Thursday afternoon during the AdventHealth Ottawa Board of Trustees meeting. The meeting, which became heated at times, gave Franklin County residents an opportunity to ask questions of the board to learn more about the fallout between the hospital and Ottawa Family Physicians, who previously operated the medical facility’s hospitalist program.
