The volleyball sub-states are set for Saturday. The winners of the sub-state tournaments advance to the state tournament.

The Ottawa High School girls golf team finished its best season in program history this week at the 4A State Tournament in Emporia. Senior Aubrey Vazquez finished 26th individually with a 198, which is the best finish at the state tournament for an Ottawa golfer.
The Ottawa University defense will have its hands full with the quick backs and unorthodox Friends offense. Friends utilizes the “flexbone” or wishbone offense.

Every day in the clinic or hospital I meet extraordinary caregivers. They are the ones who have gone above and beyond the call of duty; sometimes for years at a time. When you ask them how they do it, they shrug and smile. I am not talking about any doctor, nurse, or therapist. I am referring to those who care for and look after their elderly friends and family members. This can be a spouse, adult child, adult grandchild, neighbor, or even a good friend.
