The Franklin County Conservation District has purchased a new Great Plains 606 no-till drill to help local producers as they prepare for the next growing season. But because of increased costs, the rental rate has been raised for the first time since April 2018.

OU men lose 2 in Classic

The Ottawa University men’s basketball team came out of the weekend tourney, the All-Cattle Classic, with a much better feeling than after the opener. Ottawa fell 86-82 to (RV) Concordia University on Saturday afternoon at Friedrich Arena.

Weidl takes second

The Ottawa University sophomore Darby Weidl led the women’s wrestling team with a runner- up finish in the Falcon Invite in Wichita. Weidl, a former Ottawa High School state champion, posted a 3-1 record.

Braves advance to semifinals

The Ottawa University men’s soccer team advanced to the KCAC Tournament semifinals with a 3-1 win over York in the first round at AdventHealth Field. The Braves play Wednesday in Wichita against Saint Mary for the right to play for the KCAC championship.
