Parsons man sentenced to more than 28 years for producing child porn

WICHITA – A Kansas man was sentenced to 345 months in prison for conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation of a child. According to court documents, Dillon Everman, 30, of Parsons, admitted that, while pleading guilty, he encouraged and requested co-defendant Dustin Strom to sexually abuse two young children and send him images of the abuse.

Safe Kids Kansas announces video challenge

Safe Kids Kansas, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and program sponsor State Farm announce an opportunity for Kansas high schoolers to share their knowledge on safe driving and passenger practices. The Take It from a Teen video challenge is a unique way to hear from teenagers on how to reach teens with important road safety information that can prevent injuries and save lives. Two bodies found in rural Douglas County home

Two people were found dead in a rural Douglas County residence Monday morning after deputies were notified of a possible shooting at the home. At about 10 a.m., Douglas County Sheriff’s officials posted information on the agency’s Facebook page that investigators, including those with the county coroner’s office, were investigating a shooting in the 700 block of East 1550 Road, southeast of Lawrence.
