OU bowlers finish in top 20

The Ottawa University men and women’s bowling teams both finished in the top-20 at the Glenn Carlson Invite this past weekend at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The men’s team finished 18th out of 47 teams, while the women placed 17th out of 28.

K-State beef cattle update event set for Jan. 19

Kansas State University Research and Extension, Frontier District, will be hosting a beef cattle update meeting, beginning at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Overbrook Livestock Commission Co., 305 1st St., in Overbrook. A chili supper will kick off the evening, followed by presentations from Jaymelynn Farney, a southeast area extension beef systems specialist who will discuss making cost-efficient mineral selections for the cowherd and the importance of Vitamin A, especially with droughty forages.
