The Ottawa Library is aglow with holiday cheer as the Wreath Festival and Fundraiser kicks off, showcasing the creativity and generosity of the local community. Handmade wreaths and table centerpieces, crafted with care by community members, are now on display throughout the library, transforming the space into a festive wonderland.
Reaching our first cold snap and packing up our Thanksgiving leftovers, itâs officially Christmas time in Ottawa. At this yearâs Mayoral Tree Lighting Ceremony the Main Street lights beamed as the engines for the parade started. This yearâs theme is Whooville after the famous Grinch Who Stole Christmas story. There were cookies, hot cocoa, make your own ornament, and even some snow made an appearance. A few bikes were given to kids as a part of a drawing and downtown shops were open for Small Business Saturday.
As this annual meal comes back around serving hundreds of people this Thanksgiving meal brings the community together over a celebrated holiday and a classic plate of holiday specialties.
Back for another year, from 5:45 pm- 8:30 pm Dec. 6, 7 and 8 walk through the Bethlehem Project, Immersive Live Nativity at Camp Chippewa and Retreat Center, 2577 Idaho Rd., Ottawa. Admission is free, and there will be onsite parking, live animals, free hot cocoa and cookies.
