Since inauguration day on Jan. 20, President Trump has made some actions towards immigration to the United States. In just seven days, Trump has made executive orders: ‘Protecting The American People Against Invasion’, ‘Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion’, ‘Protecting The United States From Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats’ and ‘Declaring a National Emergency at the Southern Border of the United States’.
In January of this year, the Ottawa Fire Department conducted frozen water rescue training to practice and enhance their skills to address emergency situations involving freezing temperatures, large bodies of water and ice.
This past year there has been much the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce has organized and supported. From Friday coffees, to group trips out of the country and much more.
The Franklin County commissioners voted to retain the Ottawa Herald as the official county newspaper during a organizational meeting. They also determined the boards the commissioners will sit on, made elections of chairperson and vice chairperson of the commission, swore in officers of the county and set the date and times for meetings for this year.
The American Legion Boys State of Kansas is hosting it’s annual week-long event, this summer June 1-7, for it’s Kansas Boys State program which offers a promising look at some activities of government. It will be at Kansas State University in Manhattan.
