Mary Ada Slemp, 71, of Ottawa, KS passed away Friday January 7, 2022 at Advent Health of Ottawa, KS. She was born October 12, 1950 in Beagle, KS the daughter of Phillip Lyons and Delores (Auterburn) Lyons. Mary’s father was in the military so they lived in various parts of the country when she was young. She graduated from Fairfax High School, Fairfax, VA with the class of 1969. She then moved to Ottawa, KS area and lived there since.

Mary was a Nursing Assistant for many years at Crestview Nursing Home, Ottawa. From 1999 to 2010 she worked at the Ottawa McDonald’s. Mary made many friends and looked forward to seeing them all during her years at McDonald’s.

She was a big fan of movies and was always excited to watch one at home. She was a huge BINGO player. Always ready to go out and play a game with friends. She also had coffee regularly either at Burger King or McDonald’s. She was also always looking forward to her Sunday dinners with her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Frank Lyons.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald Slemp , Clarksville, IA, Phillip Lyons, Ottawa, KS; two daughters, Linda Bledsoe and her husband, Clayton, San Antonio, TX, Carrie Ward, Missouri; four sisters, Wilma Johnson, Paola, KS, Dorothy Diane (Dot) Lyons, Merrit Island, FL, Annie Nolan, Valley Mills, TX, Renee Hoover, Paola, KS; and nine grandchildren, Jared, Kailey, Megan, Jeremy, Dalton, Lucas, Logan, Mariah, and Chase.

To celebrate Mary’s life, family will meet friends for a visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S.
