Claron R. Cordle, 92, of Ottawa, KS, went to be with the Lord. Friday, October 7, 2022 at Rock Creek of Ottawa, KS. He passed peacefully while his daughter was holding his hand. He was born December 27, 1929 in Welda, KS the son of Kenneth and Ina (Willis) Cordle. He graduated from the Wellsville High School in Wellsville, KS with the Class of 1948. After graduating high school, Claron worked at Bennett’s Creamery in Ottawa, KS. He later worked in the Oil Fields as his father did before him. Claron worked at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, KS as a Business Manager. In 1963, he worked at the Gas Service Company in Ottawa, KS as an Office Manager, retiring in 1988. He was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginnie” Laws at the North Baptist Church in Ottawa, KS on July 22, 1951. They shared sixty-nine years of marriage before Ginnie’s passing on December 4, 2020. He was a former member of the North Baptist Church, Ottawa, a current member of Hope Anthem Church, Ottawa, and a member of Gideons International. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling, golfing and was always excited to attend a Bill Gaither concert with his sweetheart Ginnie. Claron was a handy “fix-it” man and worked at his brother Lyle’s hardware store, Mr. C’s, part-time after he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his daughter’s and later his grandchildren’s activities, cheering them on in the bleachers during their many sporting events. Claron and Ginnie enjoyed gathering with friends, laughing and playing dominoes. Claron was a kind, caring, faithful servant of God and greeted everyone with a smile. Claron is survived by a daughter, Denise K. Lane, grandson, Matthew R. Lane, granddaughter, Kayley M. Lane, great granddaughters, Lucy and Catherine Lane all of Lawrence, KS; a foster daughter, Denise L. Cox; and foster grandson, Brian Hoover (Brittany) and his daughters, Grace and Marissa all of Missouri. Also surviving is his brother, Darrel Cordle (Esther), brother-in-law, Keith Watts and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lyle Cordle; two sisters, Shirley Kathleen Cordle and Leone Watts and sister-in-law Glacia Cordle as well as many other extended family and special friends. Claron was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and Christian. He will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of his family and many friends forever. We rejoice imagining the embrace he received from his loving wife as he entered the gates of heaven. To celebrate Claron’s life, a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Hope Anthem Church, 520 E. 13th Street, Ottawa, KS 66067.
