Honoring our heroes: Veterans Day events set for Saturday

In honor of those who served in our nation’s military as well as those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, several events and activities are planned for Veterans Day Saturday in Ottawa.A memorial ceremony will take place at the veterans’ memorial at 4th and Main streets shortly before the annual Veterans Day parade, which is scheduled from 10:45 a.m.

Ottawa Main Street receives Equitable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem grant

Ottawa Main Street Association has been selected as one of 30 communities nationwide to participate in Main Street America’s Equitable Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in Rural Communities Pilot Program.The announcement was made Monday.The program, supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, engaging and empowering entrepreneurial talent in rural communities so those communities see themselves reflected on their local Main Street.
