City approves purchase of Ottawa Country Club

Ottawa city commissioners are proceeding with plans to buy the local country club, hoping the purchase adds another amenity to the community. In early August, commissioners heard from Ottawa County Club Association’s board members Mike Hiatt and Kathy Gretencord, who told them how the association’s equity group was accepting offers from groups interested in purchasing the property located at 1001 E.

Missing man’s vehicle found in Linn County

By Jennifer McDaniel The Ottawa Herald One week after family members reported a 30-yearold Lawrence man missing, a body was discovered near his missing vehicle on Wednesday nearly an hour away in a nearby county. In a statement released Thursday, Ottawa Police Department officials confirmed Garrett Russell’s car, a white, 2000-model Toyota Camry, was found in Linn County.

OHS Homecoming Candidates Announced

Ottawa High School has announced Wednesday the 2022 Fall Homecoming king and queen candidates. Back row, (from left) Timothy Blakesley, Joel Brown, Axavier Vink.
