Marsh joins CH high school staff

Central Heights High School is welcoming English teacher Amy Marsh to its staff for the 2022-2023 school year. Marsh, who comes to Central Heights from Yates Center, says she is most looking forward to having “a new space, a couple of new classes, and new people — I like an adventure.” .

Head out to the wild horse and burro event in Lawrence, Kan.

NORMAN, Okla. – The Bureau of Land Management will hold a wild horse and burro adoption event in Lawrence, Kan., Aug. 19-20, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The two-day event, featuring 120 wild horses and burros, will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19. Adoptions will be held from noon-6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Aug. 20. Animals are eligible for adoption. Inquire with BLM staff onsite for more information.

Local author Kale Link promoting debut novel at Ottawa Library Aug. 10

Local author and recent West Franklin graduate Kale Link will be visiting the Ottawa Library on August 10 at 1 pm to discuss his debut novel, Gone to the Great Dying: A Prehistoric Odyssey. Link, who will be attending Fort Hays State University in the fall to study paleontology, has been interested in dinosaurs and the prehistoric world since childhood.
