Franklin Co. Development Council launches online tool for local businesses

The Franklin County Development Council (FCDC) has launched a new section on its website that will allow local small businesses to conduct market research. The tool, called SizeUp Franklin County, will also be available on the websites of the City of Ottawa, Franklin County, Wellsville Chamber of Commerce, and Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.

Pitt States students on spring honor roll

Several local students were selected to there Pittsburg State University spring honor rolls. To qualify for Dean’s Scholastic Honors, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours, receive a grade point average (GPA) of 3.6000 for all credit course work that semester and have no grade lower than a B and no grade of I in any course during the semester.

Sharing Kansas values in Franklin County

Visiting downtown Ottawa last week, I saw how Main Street businesses bring the community to life, and how industry is growing and bringing new jobs to the area. I participated in the resources offered at the library for families and kids to stay healthy and happy. I spoke with the Franklin County Farm Bureau and heard about some of the major issues facing farmers and ranchers. And, of course, I tried the ribs and fried okra at Smoked Creations.
