Zach Clayton selected to fill commission vacancy

The City of Ottawa Board of Commissioners selected Zachary Clayton to fill a vacant seat left by the resignation of former commissioner Tom Weigand during its March 28 study session. Commissioners agreed that all five applicants were well-qualified for the position, but Clayton’s experience with information technology (IT) is something they haven’t had in a long time and would prove advantageous.

Ottawa City Commission Recap: March 28

During their March 28 study session, the Ottawa City Commission conducted its final two interviews for applicants to fill former commissioner Tom Weigand’s vacant seat. The first applicant, Stan Nichols, worked in electronic security and traveled the country during his career with the National Guard before retiring in 2016.

Franklin County Commission Recap: March 30

During its March 30 meeting, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners discussed how it would allocate funds to twelve different local organizations for fiscal year 2023. The County distributes funding to several organizations each year, which are sometimes the exact amount requested and are sometimes less if commissioners decide another amount is more appropriate budgetarily.
