Ottawa University hosts “Let’s Talk About Ukraine” talk with Dr. Steven Foulke

Ottawa University hosted a Zoom presentation by history and geography professor Dr. Steven Foulke on March 9 called “Let’s Talk About Ukraine”. Using his background in cultural geography, Foulke explained the history of Ukraine, why Russian President Vladimir Putin chose to invade, and what could come next for the country, which has been ravaged by onslaughts of Russian troops since the invasion began in February of 2022.

Legislature to tackle major issues

The 2022 legislative session is quickly coming to a close. Last week was turnaround, considered the halfway point of session. However, it is not the same amount of time to complete the “second half” of session. The first half is about 1.5 months, while the second half is less than 4 weeks. We have about two weeks for committee meetings and then a few full days on the floor to work bills.
