Ottawa request further information on Safe Haven Baby Box proposal
Ottawa City Commissioners tabled the decision to have a Safe Haven Baby Box installed at the Fire Department at their Wednesday, June 12 meeting.Commissioners agreed to explore the possibility of installing the box at an alternative location from the fire station in collaboration with other community organizations.Angie Malik presented her fundraising efforts and proposal to install a Safe Haven Baby Box at the fire station.Malik said her idea for the Safe Haven Baby box came after she was unable to find a way to memorialize her daughter, who passed away in 2021, at Haley Park with donations she had received from fundraising efforts.Malik said she was directed to the Ottawa Main St.
