Dear Amy: I am a 23-year-old personal trainer. I’m good looking and muscular, and get hit on by older females.
DEAR DR. ROACH: You recently answered a question from a reader with a friend who had sudden hearing loss with tinnitus after experiencing vertigo and dizziness.
The design cut into the wood is beautiful, detailed, intricate – and handmade. It was not produced with a laser cutter or computer- aided design, but rather, entirely by hand by a remarkably skilled craftsman in rural Kansas.
“Full circle.” That’s one way of describing the creation of one Kansas rural business, which is located in what was once one of the first state-inspected meat plants and is again serving the processing needs of Kansans.
DEAR DR. ROACH: I have been diagnosed with Vitamin D toxicity, according to the blood work from a month ago – my result was 122 ng/mL. I was taking high doses of vitamin D3 in pill form (15,000 IU a day for three years) bought from a drugstore. I have stopped taking it, but I need to know how long it will take to have a normal amount in my body. (Weeks, months?) Can you shed any light on this question? I would like to take it again when my level comes down, but in a lower amount. Also, by any chance, would the high amount of D3 in my system have any correlation to a diagnosis of stenosis of the aortic valve? – C.I.
Dear Amy: I wonder if my expectations are too high, or if my wife is controlling me? I do not feel welcome in my own house. Every week my wife asks me for my schedule (I am retired) for the coming week to make sure that I am out of the house for the better portion of several days.
Dear Amy: I am a divorced 52-year-old woman who is experiencing a disturbing situation. Men I meet for possible relationships have what I describe as argumentative personalities.
DEAR DR. ROACH: At 57, I slipped on ice and broke my right hip. During my hospital stay, I believe they gave me a Fosamax shot through IV. After surgery, I had a hip and spine bone scan, which showed osteoporosis. My endocrinologist determined I have hypothyroidism. I'm assuming this is what caused the osteoporosis.
My son is one of the many Americans with cleft lip and palate. The specifics of each affected individual's situation vary, but one thing they have in common is that they will be having surgery. Lots of surgery. Although most individuals with orofacial clefts, including my son, are otherwise healthy and lead normal lives, the process of restoring a normal smile, normal speech, normal chewing, involves many steps from birth into adulthood.
